Grief is a journey we don't have to walk alone.
Healing Stitches
Together We Heal
WHY YARN-CRAFTING?
Knitting and Crocheting can bring comfort during a time of grief due to the loss of a loved one. It can, for a while, take your mind off of your pain. The textures and colors of the yarn, the warmth of the item being created and the stitch-upon-stitch motion promotes relaxing and meditative qualities, according to research submitted to The Craft Yarn Council.
The therapeutic values include relief from depression, anxiety, and the discomforting effects of isolation.
WHY TOGETHER?
Grief needs the support and compassion of others. People can come together in times of grief to help one another.HEALING STITCHES provides a safe place for giving and receiving support while creating articles of comfort that can be given to others in the community. Do you do other crafts? Come join us!
Some supplies will be available to help you get started, or bring your current project.
